Whatsapp for Android has now brought an estimated picture-in-picture (PIP) feature for all users. In October, the beta feature is rolling out to Android users via Whatsapp stable version 2.18.380. This essentially allows you to watch Instagram, Facebook and YouTube videos in a short window, as well as continue scrolling through Whatsapp chat.

Although new updates have now brought a dedicated PIP feature for all Android users, WhatsApp has been offering a similar experience from January this year for the iPhone.

To use the Picture-In-Picture feature on the latest Whatsapp for Android, now you can watch Facebook, Instagram and YouTube videos in a short window, as well as continue to navigate around WhatsApp in various chats. This feature also works in individual chat as well as in group chat.

To experience the picture-in-picture feature, you do not need to enable an option on Android for the latest Whatsapp. It works with any link to Facebook, Instagram, or YouTube videos.
Once you tap that link, the video plays in a small, dedicated window sitting on top of your whitspeed chat. This means that you can continue communicating with the individuals or members of the Whatsap Group as well as seeing the available Facebook, Instagram or YouTube videos.

It is worth noting here that when the new feature runs Facebook, Instagram and YouTube videos in a separate window on whatsapp, it does not work with the video clip shared on the instant messaging app. This is also the case for sharing videos with other video platforms. As we mentioned, Whatsapp was testing the Picture-In-Picture feature on Android in October. The Facebook-owned company brought convenience in early January for iOS users.
